Speech and Language Therapy is support for children with difficulties in speech, language and communication. Children with speech difficulties can have impact on eating, drinking and swallowing as well. A Speech and Language Therapist assesses and helps the child with different skills the child will have to learn to communicate with others, understand what others say to them which will ultimately enable the child to overcome the speech and language difficulties.
Our Speech-Language Pathologists are trained to work with children with a variety of childhood developmental delays and disorders. They can span from mild articulation delays to more complex disorders such as Autism, Down syndrome, Motor Speech Disorders, and other childhood conditions. Our team of speech therapists can also help children with picky eating and oral motor sensitivities.
Autism Therapy is a combination of 3 or more therapies – Speech therapy, behaviour therapy & Occupational therapy along with sensory integration etc. Autism Therapy is structured to help children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) overcome their challenges. Occupational therapy helps children with autism understand and manage their daily tasks, speech & language therapy helps them learn to communicate. Sensory Integration therapy helps them manage their sensory challenges. Behaviour therapy helps them with skills like eye contact, taking turns, understanding gestures, following instructions etc.
Our Autism therapy uses right combination of Speech & language, Occupational therapy + play & Behaviour/ABA therapy based on the child's severity of Autism. We strongly recommend early intervention to improve the child's abilities & reduce the symptoms. With early intervention Autism therapy they can reach their full potential & can pursue their education in regular schools. We use evidence based techniques & innovative methods in our therapies which give measurable outcomes.
Behaviour Therapy/ABA Therapy for young children (ages 2 to 5) is the training that will particularly address those sensitive areas of the child’s Behavioural developmental. It is most effective when the parents & therapists work together developing strategies and using them to manage their children’s behaviour at home and school.
For children around the preschool-age the changes are more rapid than older children. Professional help will enable parents to determine at what point a behavior requires intervention and which strategies work best with each child. Our methods help parents learn to create structure, reinforce good behaviour, discourage negative behaviours, provide consistent discipline, and strengthen the relationship with their child through positive communication.
Physiotherapy is often done in collaboration with other therapies for babies who are slow to achieve their motor milestones. It helps with their gross motor and fine motor skills. At our centre our physiotherapists are specialists with pediatric motor developmental delays. The therapy requirements vary from child to child as babies develop at different paces & are influenced by various factors.
Occupational Therapy focuses on performing daily activities. Occupational therapy helps children who find it difficult to do their everyday tasks due to motor skills like getting dressed, holding a pencil or using a scissors which are fine motor skills and planning, writing which is hand-eye coordination, etc.. It also works with the child’s sensory processing and self-regulation. Before starting the therapy our therapists make an assessment of the child’s strength’s & challenges & take extra care to work on sensory issues for best results.
