Frequently
asked questions
Is it normal for therapy to take a long time before we see big improvements?
Yes, it’s quite common. Therapy is a process, not a quick fix, especially for developmental challenges. In this free 30-minute session, we’ll discuss why progress can be gradual.
How can I tell if therapy is working if the changes are not very obvious?
We’ll teach you how to spot those “subtle signs of progress” – small but significant shifts in your child’s behaviour, skills, or confidence that show things are moving in the right direction.
What if I feel my child’s therapy goals need to be changed?
That’s a valid point to consider. This webinar will cover when and how to discuss adjusting therapy goals or approaches with your therapist to ensure the plan remains effective.
It's hard to keep my hopes up when progress feels so slow. Any tips?
Absolutely. Managing your own expectations and staying motivated is crucial. We’ll share practical tips to help you stay positive and supportive throughout your child’s therapy journey.
Could the issue be with the type of therapy or the therapist themselves?
While this webinar focuses on understanding progress and managing expectations, we briefly touch upon considering all factors. If you have deeper concerns about therapist fit, our other webinar “Should I Switch Therapists?” might also be helpful.
